Imagine a system that checks layouts, claims, and copy on demand and immediately alerts you if the logo, colors, typography, or tone deviate from the corporate design.

That’s exactly the idea we explored in an initial test, which led to the development of the dmc Brand Guardian-GPT. This custom model incorporates all the style guides, image guidelines, and wording specifications for a brand or campaign and analyzes within seconds whether they are being followed.

What the Brand Guardian Checks

  • Logo Placement and Sizes
  • Colors and typography in accordance with the corporate design guidelines
  • Photography Rules: Subject Selection, Contrast, Cropping
  • Copy and Wording: Claims, Hashtags, Tone
  • Layout Basics: White Space, Hierarchy, Readability, etc.

Proof of Concept

We developed a campaign platform for the City of Düsseldorf’s tourism department that was intended to be further developed by various departments on an event-by-event basis. Even the first adaptations revealed significant quality issues: image contrast was insufficient, visuals appeared too cluttered, and typography and logos were used in the wrong colors.

That’s where the idea for an AI Brand Guardian was born. So we trained a custom GPT using all the relevant style guides and rules. Initial tests showed that the model checks logos, colors, visual language, and copy; clearly flags any deviations; immediately highlights errors; and suggests the necessary optimizations.

Result

A consistently cohesive campaign with significantly fewer rounds of revisions and minimal staffing requirements. One minor drawback: Our Guardian is still too polite; even designs that make you want to run away get a “that’s already very good, but…” from him.
